The Atlanta Convention Center
Located in the heart of downtown Atlanta, the Georgia World Congress Center (GWCC) hosts a myriad of conventions, trade shows, and corporate events each year. Together with the adjacent Georgia Dome and Centennial Olympic Park, which are also owned by the state and operated by the GWCC Authority, the three facilities comprise one of the largest convention, sports, and entertainment complexes in the world. The Georgia World Congress Center opened in 1976 with a total of 750,000 square feet, 350,000 of which was exhibit space. Today, the facility encompasses 3.9 million square feet, including twelve exhibit halls that total 1.4 million square feet of prime exhibit space as well as 105 meeting rooms in varying shapes and sizes, encompassing 305,000 square feet. Additionally, the GWCC offers 2 grand ballrooms, 2 landscaped plazas and a 1,740-seat auditorium.
